Paul A. Hummel, III has been working with his father since 1987. He is a graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School and the University of Akron. Paul is a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church. He is involved with Rotary Club of Akron, Boy Scouts of America, Mobile Meals and Bluecoats Incorporated. Paul lives in Akron with his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Caroline and Maggie.

Paul Hummel, Jr. graduated from Hoban High School, St. Bonaventure University, and The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He also served 2 years as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Paul married his wife, Patricia, and they have four children; Bridget and Paul III, both of whom are with him in the business, and daughters, Kristen and Heather. Paul is a member of St. Sebastian Church and President of the Board of Francesca Hall. He previously served on the Board of the CYO of Summit County, The Catholic Service League, Summit County Chapter of the American Cancer Society and the Akron Rotary Club. Paul has been in the family business for over 33 years serving the same families many times over the years.

Funeral Director & Embalmer
Theresa has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for many years. She received a B.A. from the University of Toledo in 1999, where she played softball, and then went on to obtain her mortuary science degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, graduating in 2001. Theresa lives in Mogadore with her husband, Chris and three boys, Austin, Mason and Landen. She serves on the Mogadore Booster Club and is very active with Mogadore schools. When not at work she loves to read and attend various sporting events with her family.

Funeral Director & Embalmer
Kyle grew up in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 2004. He attended Edison State College in Piqua, Ohio on a basketball scholarship and earned his Associate of Arts degree. In 2014, Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. At graduation, he was awarded the Arthur J. Russler Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Practice of Embalming. Kyle is a fourth-generation funeral director/embalmer. His grandfather, Myron L. Van Horn, was a past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors and the National Funeral Directors Associations. Kyle loves spending time with his wife, Amy, who is a 5th-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary, and his son, Keegan, who was born in 2011 and attends Woodridge Elementary.

Tom has worked in the funeral business for over 35 years and has been associated with Hummel Funeral Home since 2009. Tom is a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and an active representative of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, he lives in Akron with his wife Sue and they have two grown daughters. In his free time, Tom enjoys playing golf, landscaping, and spending time with family and friends.

Melanie has been working in the funeral business for the past 7 years. She graduated From Stow Munroe Falls High School in 2013. She is currently pursuing her mortuary science degree. Melanie is a member at St. Mary Parish in Hudson. Melanie resides in Copley with her husband, Vince, and dog Zoe.

Preplanning Specialist
Growing up, Bruce's family had a burial vault business, and he worked there in high school. Ultimately, he ended up working for a local newspaper for 23 years, and then decided to take a buyout in 2002. After that, he began a new path, focused on helping families preplan for their final wishes and providing peace of mind to those they love. Bruce is passionate about educating families on the benefits of advance planning, emphasizing how planning ahead removes the burden of decision-making from those they love on the worst day of their lives.

Robert Zupke graduated from Firestone High School. He went on to receive his B.S. in Education and his M.S. in School Administration from the University of Akron. Robert's 35-year career with the Akron Public Schools included roles as teacher, coach, and administrator. Now retired, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, spending time outdoors, and woodworking. A lifelong member of the St. Sebastian Parish, Robert lives in Akron with his wife, Lori. They enjoy spending time with their daughter, Amelia, her husband, Nick, and grandson Oliver, their son, Robert, and his wife, Sarah.

Jackson graduated from Copley High School and currently attends the University of Oregon. He is a proud member of Oregon’s athletic department film unit. They produce videos for all Oregon sports teams used on social media, pre-game introductions and marketing. In his free time he enjoys making videos and flying around Northeast Ohio and beyond. Jackson lives with his family in Copley.

James Misanko graduated from St. John’s Elementary School and also graduated from Garfield High School.
He attended The University of Akron, and served in the US Army. He has been married to the former Lois Minninger for 52 years, and they have been blessed with three children and two grandchildren. Jim likes polka dancing and sports. Prior to joining the Hummel Funeral Homes in 1990, he was employed by the City of Akron Police Department and retired in 1987.

Graduated from Copley High School in 1962 and attended The Ohio State University and The University of Akron. After twelve years at Arden Riddle Furniture, John went on to a 29-year career at Roadway Express, spending his last fifteen years as a Driver Account Specialist. Living on the original family farm in Copley, Ohio, John and his wife, Gail, are enjoying his retirement time. They are also involved in ministries at their church. John’s daughter, Alyssa, is an honor student at The University of Akron and is studying elementary education. Playing and coaching volleyball is one of John’s passions. He has coached at three different high schools for a total of seven years, and still plays at least once a week.
