Shirley enjoyed tent camping and hiking with her family in her younger years. Throughout her lifetime, her favorite pastime was reading. She was very artistic and pursued many creative endeavors over the years including oil and acrylic painting, paper mache, crocheting, woodworking, sewing, quilting, and jewelry making, to name just a few.
