Richard Bowersox

Richard D. Bowersox, age 92, passed away on December 11, 2021. Richard was born in Akron, Ohio.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Consolidated Freightways after 40 years of service. After retirement Richard enjoyed his boat and cabin at Piedmont Lake, and loved to travel. Richard was a member of the Copley United Methodist church, where he volunteered much of his time. Richard also volunteered at the Copley Outreach, and served on the American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.

Richard is survived by his wife, Carole, and they enjoyed 68 wonderful years together; his son, Robert (Lynette); and daughter, Pam; grandchildren, Justin, Michael, and Sarah (Ryan) Gosorn; 4 great grandchildren, Dylan, Lily, Olivia, and Gigi. Richard was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Rick and Jeffrey.

A celebration of life service will be held for Richard at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Copley United Methodist Church, 1518 South Cleveland Massillon Road, Copley. A time for visiting will be from 10 am to 11 am. at the church. The family request all attending wear a mask.
