Margaret Ann (Dannemiller) Walch

Margaret Ann Walch, age 96, passed away from natural causes at The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn on January 15, 2022.
Born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Henry and Catherine Rose (Klein) Dannemiller, Margaret spent 54 years with her loving husband Andrew "Andy" J. Walch. Margaret "Marg" was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish Church in Cuyahoga Falls and a loyal choir member.
After graduating from North High School in Akron, Margaret worked at The General Tire & Rubber Company before her marriage to Andy. Marg and Andy lovingly raised their five children and enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and camping. She worked for The Falls News. She also worked with her son, Robert, in his publishing business. She spent decades researching and compiling family records and in 2000 published, Dannemiller - A Unique Name in North America. Margaret taught herself to read older handwritten French and German and loved to research historical records. She volunteered at the Akron Ohio Family History Center in Tallmadge in genealogical research.
Margaret will always be loved by her family and greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her sister, Mary Bertele (Dannemiller); and her brothers, Charles, Vincent, and Donald Dannemiller. Margaret is survived by her children, Martha (Carmello "Carmen") Cangemi, Mary (Michael) Meyers, James (Denise) Walch, Robert Walch (Lydia Bohm), and John (Mary) Walch; and by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home at 500 E. Exchange Street, Akron on Thursday, Jan 20, from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 21 at 11:00am (1761 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls). Interment will be immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery (2420 Oakwood Drive, Cuyahoga Falls).
