Margaret Gordon Harley, 68, passed away March 10, 2021. Margaret was born October 11, 1952 to Robert Eaton and Margaret Young Harley in Akron, OH. The family lived in Stow at that time.

Margaret graduated from Tallmadge (OH) High School in 1971. She attended Case Western Reserve Univ., in Art History; Oregon State University, in Wildlife Management; Albuquerque (NM) Vo-Tech Institute, in Electronics; Saddleback (CA) Community College, and Humboldt (CA) State University. She earned her B. S. degree in Botany at Humboldt State University in May 1993.

She worked for the BLM in Vale, OR and Santa Fe, NM; for IDEA, Inc. in Torrance, CA; and as a Laboratory Technician at Humboldt County Department of Public Health in McKinleyville, CA. She retired in 2004 and returned to live in Tallmadge, OH.

Margaret enjoyed anything beautiful, whether it be art, music, a good book, or just nature in general. She was always gentle in spirit with an ability to make the people around her know that she valued and loved them so. Her kind and thoughtful ways will be missed by so many.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father and mother, and also her brother, Charles Young Harley. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Dick) and Barbara Harley, of Laguna Beach, CA. Her nephews and their wives, Bob and Leslie McMichael, of Sekiu, WA, and Geoff McMichael and April Ottey, of Port Townsend, WA. Her nieces and their husbands, Jackie and Kenny Sweet, of Wichita, KS, and Christine and Joe Jurak, of Wichita, KS. Her great-nephews and nieces, Finn Ottey McMichael, Porter Ottey McMichael, Eliza Sweet, Victoria Sweet, and Miles Sweet. Finally and especially, her beloved cats: Sebastian, Turtle, Natasha, Lewis, Boris, Bela, and Buddha-Baby.

There are no services planned. Memorial contributions can be made in Margaret's honor to the Humane Society of Akron, OH.
