Helen Lombard, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2021 at home with family and hospice caregivers at her bedside.
Helen was the matriarch of a multicultural family, who enjoyed seeing them chatting, eating, and playing together in her apartment. She was a classy lady that loved to dress stylishly and maintained a beautiful, artistic home. She loved to tell stories of her international travels and long career as a retail buyer and manager. She was loving and giving to family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Hillard; sisters Thelma, Linda Sue, Nancy and Etta; and husband Frank.
Helen is survived by her brothers Ron, Don (Darleen), and Bobbie (Linda); son, Scott Lombard (Corinna) and daughters Frances “Amina" Almefleh and Patricia Noel (Dana), as well as grandchildren, Laura, Dana E. and Annie Noel, Korie Chapochnikova, Alexis Niceley (Rush), Suzanne Aboushama (Ibrahim), Hasan Almefleh (Elsy), Hussein (Rabab) Rawashdeh, and Yusef Rawashdeh (Shereen); and great-grandchildren, Strong and Josephine Niceley, Andrew Chapochnikov, Norah Aboushama, Hamza Aboushama, Adam Rawashdeh, Ali Rawashdeh, Zain Rawashdeh, Besa Almefleh, and Younis Rawashdeh. Helen also claimed as her family, longtime friends Jerry Albrent, Ralph and Nancy Taylor and Anne and Walter Keith, and all their children and grandchildren.
We thank her caregiver Daphne Amos and the staff of Summa Hospice for all the care and concern they showed during the home care for our mother. We would also like to thank Hummel Funeral Home for their compassionate services.
Interment of her remains will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to First Congregational Church of Akron, 292 E. Market St. Akron 44308
