Brian Hummel

Brian S. Hummel, of Mogadore, OH, unexpectedly passed away on June 3, 2021 at the age of 48. Brian was born in Akron, OH on June 14, 1972 to parents Robert and Judith Hummel. He graduated from Mogadore High School in 1991. Brian married Darcina (McKinney) Hummel on October 9, 1999. They were married 21 years. Together they raised 3 wonderful children, Logan, Travis, and Makayla, who he loved dearly.
Brian proudly worked as an equipment technician for Sheetz, Inc for the last 10 years.
Brian was always proud of his hometown of Mogadore. Even when he was just dating his wife, he loved to take her to watch the high school football team together and was especially proud to watch both of his sons play football for his hometown team.
Brian enjoyed watching his childrens' various sports activities, fishing, and tinkering with his car stereo equipment.
Brian is survived by his father and stepmother, Robert and Barbara Hummel; his wife, Darcina "Darcy" Hummel; his children, Logan, Travis, and Makayla Hummel; his sister, Deanna (Anthony) Varn; and step siblings, Tracy, Danny, Geoff, and Christine; his nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Jacklyn, Scarlett, Garrett, Olivia, Allison and Amanda; great nieces, Addie and Maddie; his aunts and uncles, Joan West, Ronald (Diane) Hummel, Becky (Bill) Quinn, and Robin Randolph; and other family and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Judith (West) Hummel; his grandparents, Robert and Lucille Hummel, and Philip and Hazel West; and his uncle, Dean West.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 4-7pm, Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St, Akron, OH. The funeral service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Hummel Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Peninsula.
