Winifred Mackil

Winifred Patrick Mackil of Youngstown Ohio died peacefully on March 8 2007 in Akron Ohio at age 88. Winifred was the daughter of Harry Evans Patrick M.D. and Grace Edith Thibadeau. She was a graduate of Youngstown State University. She was an active volunteer at Hale Farms Stan Hywet Hall Akron Unitarian Universalist Church Historic Preservation and Nature Realm. She worked as a school librarian in the Akron Public School System and as a poll worker for the Board of Elections. Her many interests in life included bridge playing reading gardening knitting and traveling. Winifred was preceded in death by siblings Harry (Ruth) Patrick James (Juliana) Patrick M.D. Gilbert (Lucille) Patrick M.D. Donald (Mary) Patrick Grace (Myron) Patrick Owen and Phyllis (Willis) Patrick Powell R.N. and her husband of 45 years David Gene Mackil D.M.D. who died in 1996. She is survived by her children Patricia Mackil Larson of Columbus Ohio Rebecca (Dr. Jose) Mackil Algenio R.N. of Cincinnati Ohio Laura Mackil L.P.N. of Boston Massachusetts Molly (Les Zimmermann) Mackil P.E. of Newark Delaware and David (Terri) Mackil of Mogadore Ohio; grandchildren Rachel (David Cameron) Algenio M.D. Emilie Algenio M.L.S. Nathan Algenio USMCR Fmr. Rebecca Algenio Esq. Alina (Tom Kraemer) Larson Erik Larson C.F.O. and Lisa Marie Mackil; great grandchildren Ian Allen Patrick Cameron Neil Allen Patrick Cameron and Luke Larson Kraemer. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and their families. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday April 14 2007 at 11 AM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron 3500 Morewood Road Fairlawn OH. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in her name to the organizations listed above.
