VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE William E. (Billy) Semonin born in Akron on 17 July 1945 to Lloyd A. and Molly (Krill) Semonin died peacefully on 23 June 2009 at Maison Aine Nursing Home in Stow after a 1 ½ year battle with cancer. Being mentally challenged from the age of 7 Billy attended St. Coletta School for Exceptional Children in Jefferson WI. There he learned to read and write serve Mass and sing in their choir which toured the nation. At any time a relative or friend could receive a letter or card from him since he became a prolific letter writer! After the age of 10 he was known to never forget a date especially a birthday! For the last 15 years of his life Billy lived in Ft. Atkinson WI with Jeff Leeman also a former St. Coletta student. With minimal supervision they lived together and also worked together at the Fireside Restaurant. He would also continue to work off and on at St. Coletta's doing painting and gardening. Billy was preceded in death by his parents all of his aunts and uncles and his niece Melissa. He is survived by his 5 brothers: Paul R. (Joyce) of Wasilla AK; Rev. Fr. James R. of Parma; Joseph E. of Akron; Mark A. (Lyn) of Atwater; and John S. (Margo) of Canton; nephews niece and grand-niece: Michael of Pittsburgh PA; Matthew (Angela) of Wasilla AK; niece Stephanie and grand-niece Arianna of Wasilla AK. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 29 2009 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Church 44 University Avenue. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
