William Fairchild

William Andrew Fairchild, 86 gentleman farmer of Green, was welcomed by all of heaven as he passed from this earthly journey on July 8, 2014 to his heavenly reward surrounded by his family, which he loved and cherished. He was born in Higby, Ohio on May 6, 1928 to William N. and Serena Fairchild. Bill married the love of his life, Ina Lovene (Ellington) Fairchild on Aug. 22, 1947. He was a member of Calvary Temple in Akron, Ohio. He retired from Alcoa, Cleveland after 30 years. In addition to Ina Lovene, he is survived by children Sharla (Bob) Collier of N. Canton, William (Mary) Fairchild of Stow, Robert (Heather) Fairchild of Medina, Sharon Hughes of Byesville, Ohio and John (Sharon) Fairchild of Mogadore. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister Jessie Pauline, who died at birth, 6 brothers, 4 sisters and a great-granddaughter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Stow Glen Skilled Nursing Team and Great Lakes Hospice. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron. Friends may also call on Friday, July 11, from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at Calvary Temple, 3045 Albrecht Ave., Akron, OH 44312. Interment in East Liberty Cemetery.
