Walter Raymond Limbach, affectionately known as Judd, was born on February 13, 1960. He peacefully passed away on November 9, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Akron, Ohio, after a difficult battle with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.
At the peak of his life, he was incredibly hardworking, an impressive dresser, charming to no end, and greatly competitive.
Some of his most proud accomplishments include his work at Club Corporation of America, including the Cascade Club-Akron, Tower Club-Charlotte, and Nashville City Club. He also demonstrated an exceptional golf game, including a remarkable record number of lifetime holes-in-one. Additionally, he took pride in raising three wonderfully creative children who could also, in their own ways, match his skills in pool, darts, bowling, and golf- and becoming a second father to Justin.
He was fiercely proud of his family and shared numerous stories about being the youngest of four, a father, and a grandpa.
Judd enjoyed life's simplest pleasures: a perfectly starched and pressed shirt, a bouquet of flowers, playing frisbee in the park with Kelly-Dog, Sunday morning cartoons with a good cup of coffee, fishing on the rocky ledges in Canada, and breakfast dates with his mom at Akron Family Restaurant. He was a lover of great food and dining, cooking, fine art, and had an all-around lust for life. He will be remembered by all for his youthful and ornery spirit.
In the final chapter of Judd's life, he found new joy when he reconnected with Meredith. They discovered a shared love for golf, and he never commented on her swing. Judd was an amazing dancer, and despite Meredith having two left feet, he swept her effortlessly around the dance floor.
He is survived by his wife, Meredith, and stepson, Justin. He is also survived by his former wife, Jamie (Craig), and their children, Ashley (Andy), Cassidy (Zac), and Kristian (Ryan). Additionally, he leaves behind his grandchildren, Everett, Hawthorne, Olive, Ozzy, and Josephine. He is survived by his father, Walt; stepmother, Joan; brothers, Jack and Chuck; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, TKE brothers, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Megan, and his sister, Cindy.
A visitation will be held at Hummel Funeral Homes located at 2800 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333 Wednesday November 12, 2025 from 5-8pm. Interment will take place privately.
