Virginia Peter

Virginia Rose Peter passed away peacefully at her home on June 26 2007. She was born on February 22 1914 in Erie Pa. Ginny graduated from Mercyhurst College of Erie with a degree in diatetics and interned at Walter Reed Hospital Washington DC where she met her husband Arno. She was a loving wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Arno; daughter Mary Lewis; sisters Louise Haas and Frances Schultz. She is survived by her children Dr. Charles (Therese) Peter Virginia Scanlon Anne (James) McCarthy of Rockville MD James (Cathy) Peter of Ponte Vedra Beach FL and Robert (Sharon) Peter of Raleigh NC; 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and friends. The Peter family would like to thank her caregivers for their exceptional kindness and commitment. A special thank you to her physician Dr. Teresa Koenig for her many years of compansionate care and friendship. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday June 30 2007 9:30 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St. FUNERAL PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Friday from 4-8 PM.
