It's with deep sadness that we reflect on the passing of Ty Millhouse, who was considered a friend and spiritual brother. Many share in the sadness felt by his brother Knights of Columbus, many of whom dutifully visited and prayed with him in the hospital since he was admitted in mid-December.
Like many converts to our Catholic faith, Ty was on fire for the Lord. Perhaps it was his upbringing in the Pentecostal tradition, but Ty could always be counted on to offer compelling scriptural insight as his knowledge of the Old Testament in particular was extraordinary. His deep love for Christ and His Church was obvious.
Ty was intelligent, having earned the distinction as high school valedictorian and an accomplished respiratory therapist. He was tender and welcoming with a hearty laugh and a big heart. He made quite an impression on the many patients he cared for during those difficult 18-hour workdays of the Covid pandemic.
Ty saw his life as serving in the Lord's vineyard, tending and being among the vines both neat and tangled. Although he suffered much in recent years, losing his mother and father, he persevered and was always hopeful. It's with that same hope we commend his soul to the Lord.
Rest in peace dear brother. Vivat Jesus.
