VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Stephen V. Heitz Jr. 72 of Stow died at his home October 16 2004. Born July 27 1932 in Detroit Michigan he was an area resident for most of his life. Stephen served in the United States Navy having served in WW II a retired police officer and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ann daughters Mary Beth Heitz and Peggy C. Ball parents Stephen and Magdalena sister Katherine Copeland and brother Richard Heitz. He is survived by his children and spouses Stephen Brent (Julie)Heitz of Toledo Scott Heitz of Flordia Stephanie Heitz of Diamond OH Brenda Traub of Mogadore Barbara (Michael) DeVitis of Stow Donal G. (Phyllis) Washburn Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls Kathleen (David) Humphrey of Stow 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday Oct 18 2004 at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. in Akron. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM.
