Sandra Louise Stahl

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Hunt Stahl, affectionately known as Sandy, who departed this world on June 23, 2026, at the age of 83. Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience after battling leukemia. Her departure is deeply felt by all who knew and cherished her.

Sandy was born on August 11, 1942, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to Clyde and Gloria Hunt. Raised in a family that valued togetherness and strength, Sandy carried these values with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Joyce Bailey, and her granddaughter, Isabella Stahl.

Sandy's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband, Richard Stahl. United in marriage on January 16, 1966, they celebrated 60 years of marriage that continued to grow throughout their time together. Together, Sandy and Richard embarked on a life filled with adventure, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Horse shows led to craft shows, and eventually antiquing and a passion for backpacking. Together they had many great adventures including the Vermont Long Trail, the Grand Canyon, and Sandy's favorite, the Wind River Range. Their love was a testament to the power of partnership, growing stronger with each passing year.

An alumnus of Norton High School, Sandy graduated in 1961, achieving the remarkable feat of perfect school attendance for ten consecutive years. Her mother taught her how to push through personal discomfort and prioritize the greater goal. Instilling the values of perseverance and commitment, qualities that defined her throughout her life.

Sandy began a promising career at Ohio Edison, where she worked for seven years before choosing to dedicate her life to her family. Raising her kids was her priority and was more important than money. Sandy's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she brought others into her family including Jim (Jimmy) Lambright, Arnulfo DeGracia, and Marc Oberlander all who became like sons to Sandy.

Known for her hard work, healthy lifestyle, and creativity, Sandy was an amazing baker, delighting friends and family with cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, and legendary pies. Her hobbies reflected her zest for life-whether she was antiquing, hiking, assembling puzzles, reading, or playing solitaire, Sandy embraced each moment with positivity and enthusiasm. She had many sayings she passed along and one of her favorites was "It's as fun as you make it," embodying accountability and the power of choice.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her devoted sons, David and Keith; her siblings, Judy Boughton, Brenda Bidinger, and Bruce Hunt; and her grandchildren, Sam, Sophia, Jack, Nevaeh Stahl, and Morgan & Jacob Berry. Her daughter-in-law Janice Stahl remained a strong support. Each family member carries with them Sandy's love and wisdom.

A time to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, located at 2800 West Market St. It will be a time to gather, reminisce, and honor the incredible woman Sandy was.

In parting, Sandy leaves a message for her grandchildren and beloved husband: "Live your life. Don't let my passing stop you. Enjoy life, 'after all, tomorrow is another day.'" Her words serve as a poignant reminder of her enduring spirit and her wish for her family to continue embracing life's adventures.

In honoring Sandy's memory, let us carry forward her legacy of love, positivity, and the unwavering belief that life is a gift to be cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
