September 6 is the date we begin the celebration of Ruth's life in Heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Ruth was born at home in Auburndale, Wisconsin, September 20, 2026 and passed from this earthly life on September 6, 2026.
Ruth was childhood sweethearts with Roger Connor. They married in 1945 and moved to Akron in 1953. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1996. Before starting a family, she taught High School English and business courses.
Ruth loved her family and was always available to listen. Her advice, when asked for it, was supportive and wise.
She is survived by her four children, Douglas, Wendelin, Scott (Mickey Pantano) and Alison (Joe Maxin); six grandchildren, Tessa, Meagan (Dave Goodman), Kevin (Kelsey), Ruth (Zach Keller), Scott (Liz Fontana) and Nyck; and five great grandchildren.
She was a marvelous cook and baker and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed music, reading, watching trivia-based game shows and was a Guardians fan.
Ruth was a very active church member. She taught Sunday School and confirmation and was in charge of the Good Neighbors program. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Ruth was a woman of strong faith, who loved the Lord and Heaven rejoices in her homecoming.
