Rosemary Coon

August 27, 1927 — July 5, 2023

Rosemary Coon (Semonin)

Rosemary returned to the company of her husband of 75 years, Ralph, on July 5, after a brief illness. Their last few years were spent at Brookdale in Montrose surrounded by family and their last remaining friends. She was born in Akron, August 27, 1927, graduated from Copley High, and spent the remainder of her married life in Copley raising four children and perfecting the art of running a busy household, making friends, and becoming a wonderful cook.

Mom and Dad were both active members of Guardian Angels Parish in Copley as members of the Altar Society, 39 Club, and the lay ministry.

When the children were moved on in life they enjoyed traveling, alone and with their friends, the highlight of which was an extended Alaskan cruise.

For many years they enjoyed family time at their cottage in Apple Valley, cruising on their pontoon boat and fishing with their thirteen grandchildren. In time that spilled over to following the adventures of their nine great grandchildren, and anticipating more to come.

Rosemary leaves behind her four children, Linda Carpenter (Doug), John (Paula), Bob (Ann), and Paul (Amy) Coon, grandchildren, Lauren Willms (Greg), Mike Carpenter (Mona), Morena Coon, Joshua (Alex), Carrie (Tracy Letts), Kellen (Lillian), Aaron (Anna), Billy (Kyrie), Jack Coon, Molly Garcia (Ross), John Michael (soon Lindsay), Natalie and Emily Coon: add to that great grandchildren, present and expected, several surviving cousins, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and you have a picture of the wonderful legacy of a rich and fulfilling life well lived.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Brookdale and Windsong, and especially to Sue Piper, Mom's friend and caregiver over the past year.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date, followed by a private family burial service. If you should wish, make any donation to:
