Roscoe Vernon May 83 of Copley Ohio passed away May 16 2012 at Akron General Medical Center of Congestive Heart Failure. He was born on June 25 1928 in Newton West Virginia to Greeley and Rosa (Truman) May. Roscoe was a Korean War Veteran devoted Christian caring father and grandfather. Roscoe known as ''Russ'' retired from Norton Company and Tops Grocery Store both in Tallmadge. In addition to his work and family he enjoyed spending time with the senior group at church. He loved Cleveland sports and square dancing. Roscoe is survived by sister Garnett Blake; brother Monzel May; daughters Gail May and Deborah Kennedy; and son Carl May; step-sons David and Loren Price; numerous grandchildren several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Martha (nee Saltsman); sisters Norma Jean Blake Mildred Lucille Taylor; and grandson Michael May. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 24 2012 at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd. Interment in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna with Reverend Glenn Rogers officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 15120 Chicago IL 60693.
