Ronald Leo Hummel

October 4, 1943 — February 21, 2026

Our beloved Dad, Ronald Leo Hummel, passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2026 at the age of 82. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love.

Ron was a graduate of Hoban High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard. Ron was the proud owner of Robert P. Hummel Insurance Agency for over 50 years. He cultivated so many friendships from his days in the insurance industry that meant so much to him. He was a man about town who loved to be seen and to socialize. He loved his Grey Goose martini's (no vermouth), and spending time at Nick Anthe's, Papa Joes, Dontino's, and The Sheraton. He loved to play golf and he was one of the founders of the Browns Backers. He was a diehard fan and a dedicated season ticket holder for over 40 years. He served as a Trustee for the Sons of Herman for many years and so proud to be the only German "A" member at the Carovillese Club.

To anyone that knew Ron, you knew family was his first love. He treasured his wife and his two daughters. Every chance he got, he told everyone how proud he was of his family. Ron was also very strong in his faith. He is now rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with his wife and family members that went before him.

Ron was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Diane, his parents Robert and Lucille Hummel, in laws, John and Elvia Fabrizio, son-in-law Paul Banfield, brother Robert "Butch" Hummel and nephew Brian Hummel.

Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters, Denise Banfield and Stephanie (Noel) Morton, grandchildren Tyler and Hannah Gibson, sisters Rebecca (Bill) Quinn and Robin Randolph, sister-in-law Janet (George) McCone and niece Deanna (Tony) Varn and Katie Goforth.

A special thanks to the entire Summa Cardiology team, the Summa Hospice team and to the Home Instead caregivers so that Dad could spend his final days in the comfort of his own home.
