Robert Allen Jenkins Jr. aka Uncle Bob age 84, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Copley, Ohio. He was born on January 11, 1941, in Akron, Ohio.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen Jenkins, Sr. and Juanita Muriel Jenkins, and by his nephew, Jeffrey Arvay.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Judy Jaccaud; his nieces, Heather (David) Alfonso and Heidi Jaccaud (Arvay); and his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Eden, Elvis, and Audrey Arvay, and Eva, Vivienne , and William Alfonso.
Robert was a proud graduate of Akron South High School, Class of 1960, and went on to earn both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Education from The University of Akron. He devoted 27 years of his life to education at Revere Middle School, where he taught Ohio history and served as an assistant football coach. His passion for history-especially local history-extended far beyond the classroom.
A lifelong learner and enthusiastic storyteller, Bob generously shared his love of the Akron area by volunteering and leading tours at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Perkins Stone Mansion, The Mustill Store, Cascade Locks, and the John Brown House. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Cascade Locks Park Association, helping preserve the history he so deeply loved.
Bob had a tender heart for animals. He enjoyed feeding the birds, adopted a stray kitten named Scooter, and rescued a one-eyed dog named Jack from the Summit County Humane Society.
One of his greatest joys in life was being an uncle. He took great pride in introducing himself to everyone he met as "Uncle Bob." His love of learning, family, friendship, and community will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
