VIEW PICTURE TRIBUTE Richard Nelson 78 of Akron died March 12 2007 at Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood with his family at his side. Dick 'Nasty Nelson' served in the Army and retired from the Akron Fire Department in 1985 with 28 years of service. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Lucy and Edgar Nelson and sister Joanne Witsman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty; children Sharon Leone of Loveland Dennis (Nancy) Nelson of Stow Terry Nelson of Akron Pam (Tom) Fisher of Norton Pat (Dave) Varacelli of Copley Shelly (Fred) Karm of Green; sister Louise Lann of Cuyahoga Falls; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd at 5:00 pm Thursday March 15 2007 with Fr. Thomas McCann officiating. The visitation will follow until 9:00 pm. Inurnment at a later date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of VNS 3358 Ridgewood Rd Akron OH 44333.
