VIEW MEMORIAL TRIBUTE VIDEO Phyllis D. 'Ramsey Casteel' Blondheim (age 80) has joined together with her special loved ones: beloved husband Gene her son Mike and daughter Bunny her parents brothers Joe and Cass Casteel and special aunt Nettie Garrett. Phyllis was a devoted caregiver to many of those that have departed and was a faithful wife mother grandmother daughter sister niece and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was born on January 4 1928 in Estill KY to Ethel and Omar Casteel as the oldest of their five children. She lived her childhood and teenage years in Dungannon VA where she graduated from high school in 1945. The entire family moved to Akron OH that year where she met her husband Gene and married him on July 9 1946. They raised their six children in the home that they built in Green Twp (Akron OH). She lived in Myrtle Beach SC for the past 30 yrs. where she was a caregiver for both her husband and Aunt Nettie. She made and collected dolls and teddy bears and enjoyed gardening. She was an active member of the Coastal Doll Club for many yrs and attended numerous doll shows and conventions. Phyllis leaves behind her sons: Steve of Rochester MN Joe (Diane) of Tucson AZ and Bill (Alison) of Jackson Twp. She leaves daughter Tammy Singleton of Myrtle Beach SC; her sister Shirley (Henry) Pasch of Chesterfield MO; her brother Jack (Janet) Casteel of Cuyahoga Falls OH; her half-brother Grover Casteel of Dearborn Hts MI; her daughter-in-law Carmen Blondheim of N. Port FL; grandson Eric (Elizabeth) Blondheim and great-granddaughter Emma of Lovelock NV; and grandsons Matthew Burgett of Tallmadge OH and Steven Blondheim of Akron. She is survived by 'her special caregiver' granddaughter Kerri Blondheim of Jackson Twp and great-grandchildren Ashley Heiser of Massillon OH and Zachary Blondheim of Brockton MA. She is also survived by her special 'doll buddy' Elvira Peele of Myrtle Beach and special cousin Billie Taylor also of Myrtle Beach. She will be missed by many nieces nephews cousins and her Coastal Doll Club friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday March 29 2008 at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Douglas Patton officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Friday March 28 at Hummel Funeral Home. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Asera Care Hospice of Akron and the staff of Gaslite Villa Health Care Nursing Center of Canal Fulton. Also special thanks to Rev. Douglas Patton for his support of the family and for officiating at the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asera Care Hospice of Akron 2820 W.
