Pamela Jayne Hillegass Lane, age 81, passed away on October 3, 2026. Born in Akron, on March 13, 1945, she graduated from Buchtel High School in 1963. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Akron and worked as a teacher for 32 years in the Akron Public Schools where she taught at Henry, Portage Path and Case Elementary. Pam was a world traveler who loved seeing new places and experiencing memorable adventures. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father Dr. Victor Hillegass, mother Gustava Webb Hillegass, sisters Linda Ann Bird and Carolyn 'Sue' Bearden. Pam is survived by her sons Victor Lane (Kathy) and Todd Lane (Andrea). Grandchildren Christopher (Gab), David, Amy and András Lane. Her nieces Lisa (Mike), Jillian and Jayme Bryson. Her nephews John Bird and Connor Bryson. Her longtime special friend Dave Evans.

Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home, 2800 W. Market Street, Fairlawn on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 12-1 PM, where a service will follow at 1PM. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
