Pamela Jane Freeman

Pamela Jane Freeman of Akron, Ohio, passed away June 6, 2026. Her family was with her as she passed peacefully from this life. She had been struck with a sudden illness earlier that day. Sadly, even with the heroic efforts of the physicians and medical staff at Cleveland Clinic/AGMC, she did not survive. The family is grateful for the kindness and empathy extended to the family by her doctors during the end of life process.

Pamela graduated from Firestone High School in Akron and attended Kent State University for 2 years before working in various jobs in sales and hospitality over the years. Through her adult life, Pamela faced many health challenges but maintained a positive view of the world and loved her family and friends. She had a sense of humor that helped keep her spirits up and made her fun to be around. Perhaps her greatest joy in the last few years came from seeing her three grandsons - Alvin, Andrew and Austin - begin to grow as fine little boys.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Paula Freeman, and niece, Emily Hudson. In addition to her grandsons, Pamela is survived by her son Alexander ("Alex") Freeman, mother Susan Freeman, father John Freeman and niece Jennifer Hudson all who held her hand as she passed. Beyond her immediate blood relatives, Pamela leaves Chelsey Virginia Loyd, mother of the boys, Patricia Post, long-time companion of John and friend to Pamela, her aunt Sharon Gunn, uncle Ken Freeman and cousins Maureen, Lora, Heather, Molly and Ian. She will be missed by all.

Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday, June 11 from 5-7pm at the Hummel Funeral Home located at 2800 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333.

Interment will be in Central Lake, Michigan, at a later date.
