Norma Filley

Norma Jeanne (Davis) Filley, 88 of Hartville, peacefully stepped into Heaven's Gate on Sunday, August 4, 2019 after complications from a stroke. Norma was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived most of her life in Medina. She was married to her childhood sweetheart William H. Filley, for 68 years. Loving mother to her three daughters, Janet (Arland) Smith, Joyce Darby and Jackie (Frank) Clapper. She cared a lot about her grandchildren: Adam, Samantha, Sarah and Kathleen and her six great-grandchildren: Elliott, Savannah, Anthony, Elizabeth, Andrew and Emilia. Also leaving behind nieces, a nephew, cousins and numerous friends. Preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Louise Davis and only sister Alice Weeks. She will never be forgotten and always in our hearts. She loved spending holidays around a big table surrounded by family. She loved her Cleveland sports teams and passionately rooted for them. She was an avid golfer and bowler in her prime. She showed her deep inner faith in Christ through all aspects of her life with her bright smile and easy personality. Following Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Summa Health Hospice or Pebble Creek Healthcare, Akron, Ohio.
