Nancy Demeter

Nancy P. Demeter, 87, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018. Nancy was a 50 year member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sanctuary Society, Grounds Crew, Drama Club and The Christ Child Society. She received a BA in Social Work from Ohio State. Nancy led an active and involved life in a wide variety of social and community affairs and activities. She served on the St. Thomas Hospital Womens Auxiliary Board, Girl Scout Troop leader, trailblazer friend to many and a bridge player. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. She is survived by children Joseph C. (Debra), Michael (Sue), James and Beth Ann (Brad) Hickson; grandchildren Thomas, Katherine, Victoria and Henna; great grandchildren Noah, Kaleb, Gianna, Lilly, Heidi and Benjamin. The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, 2-5 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, 9:30 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
