Mildred Griffith

Mildred E. Griffith 95 1910-2005 Mildred dies Sunday June 19 at Traditions at Bath. She was born in Barberton at her grandmothers' house and lived most of her life in the Firestone Park area of Akron. Mildred was a member of the first graduating class of Garfield High School where she met and married her husband John. She graduated from the University of Akron. Her family will miss her and her avid bridge-playing friends will have an empty chair and confidant at the card table. She lived a full and active life her entire 95 years. She was preceded in death by husband John and daughter Lynn Bortel. She is survived by daughters Phyllis Glenn and Jean Griffith eight grandchildren two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has already taken place and a Memorial Services is planned for Saturday July 9 2005 at the Firestone Park Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Summa Akron Ohio or Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living in Barberton.
