It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael F. Frlich, beloved father, brother, uncle and cousin on September 6th, 2025 surrounded by his family. Mike was a wonderful person and will be missed by all.
Born on November 14th, 1946, Mike was a Copley High School graduate and All Suburban League football tight end earning a football scholarship to Kent State University. Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict as a diesel mechanic working on military vehicles in the group Hell On Wheels. When he returned home he found work as a tile setter and general laborer. He later started a successful flooring business and was a Master Craftsman. Along with his family and employees he built the business and earned a living for many years.
After a long battle with Parkinson's, Mike finally succumbed to the disease. He was predeceased by his mother Anna Frlich, his father Waldo Frlich, and his son Chad Frlich. Mike is survived by his son Todd Frlich, three sisters, Carol Holden (Larry) , Sue Hays (Jeff) and Annie Johnson (Troy), two brothers Wally Frlich (Oma) and Frank Frlich (Margie) along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Friday September 12, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM followed by a short service at 11:00 AM at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road, Copley, Ohio. Military burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH immediately following the service at 12:15 PM.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cleveland Clinic Hospice on Ridgewood road in Copley for their excellent care during Mike's final days.
