With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a devoted husband, beloved father, adored Papa, and a friend to all. Michael L. Aldrich was born in Akron, Ohio on December 10, 1936, and died on September 7, 2025, surrounded by family.
Mike attended St. Vincent grade school and graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1955. He graduated from Kent State University and began his career as a buyer for O'Neil's department store. Mike later retired from AT&T.
He was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Sebastian Church for over 55 years. Mike served as a Board member for the Cleveland Catholic Diocese Board of Education and volunteered in many positions at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. In addition, he enjoyed volunteering with Mary Alice at the Ronald McDonald House, St. Bernard Church "brown bag" meal program, and the St. Sebastian Garden Crew.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents George and Bernadine Aldrich and brothers Thomas and James Aldrich.
He is survived by his wife Mary Alice, his daughters Annemarie Henkel (Paul), Mary-Beth Aldrich, and Katie Clifford (William), grandchildren, Peter, William, Caroline, Jack, and Teddy, his sister, Patricia Mascolo, his sisters-in-law Mary Martha Mundy, Susan Mundy, Christina Mundy, Ardith Aldrich, and Irene Aldrich, brother-in-law Mark Mundy (Terry), and many dear nieces and nephews.
Mike laughed and loved deeply, showing us how to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. His faith was integral to the way he lived. Those who knew him experienced the genuine warmth of his kindness, the humor that could light up a room, and the generosity that knew no bounds. He lived with the wind at his back and a smile on his face.
A visitation will take place Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 - 11:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church located at 476 Mull Ave. Akron, OH 44320.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Sebastion St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Vincent St. Mary High School or a charity of your choice.
