On June 20, 2025, Merilyn embarked on her heavenly journey, joining her Father "Jesus". She would often share that she was eager to meet him. It was a heartwarming experience to say goodbye, share scripture, and reassure her that her faith had been a guiding light, not just for herself, but for the generations that follow. Through her tireless efforts, she made a profound impact on many lives, showing a special affection for children, be it as a babysitter or nurturing them in the Church nursery. Her remarkable influence will continue to last and be felt.
Merilyn was preceded in death by her husband Richard and is survived by her children, Wayne A. Deitle, Douglas R. (Lori) Deitle, Michael (Diane) Deitle, and Wesley Deitle; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Mauk, Brandy Deitle, Tara (Cody) Gray, Sara Evans, Christopher Pilz, Julie Blackburn and Jen Street; there were many great grandchildren.
She was a member of First Assembly of God in Akron and involved various areas such as Missionettes, Library and Nursery. She worked at Mary Coyles in Akron and also as an LPN. She also was involved with children services and helped out wherever she could by babysitting and a caregiver for the elderly. She was a strong person who never gave up and faced challenges head on such as going back to work part time when her husband was unemployed and working odd jobs such as painting.
