Maryrose Esquibel

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEMaryrose Esquibel 81 of Akron born February 2 1928 in Flint Michigan died June 22 2009. Graduate of Goodrich High School Salutatorian Bachelors from St. Mary's College and Masters Degree from Michigan State University. She was preceded in death by her husband Pedro Esquibel; parents Calvin and Helen Leckrone; brother Calvin Leckrone Jr; and grandson Raphael LaVictoire. Maryrose is survived by her daughters Elena (Peter) LaVictoire and Kay Leckrone; grandchildren Eric Hood Mallory Hood Calvin LaVictoire Natalie Hood Sam LaVictoire Paul Hood Gabriel LaVictoire Noah LaVictoire Isadora LaVictoire and Maryrose LaVictoire. Maryrose was a generous and loving mother and devoted grandmother. Her greatest gift to her children and her grandchildren was her strong faith in Jesus Christ witnessed by her devout prayer life and actively living her faith. Maryrose was a talented pianist organist and vocalist who gave her gift of music to various churches and parishes from childhood. One of the biggest honors in her life was to travel to Rome with the St. John the Evangelist Choir from Davison MI to play for Pope John Paul II. Maryrose shared her musical gifts for many years with students in the Bentley School District in Burton MI. Before her retirement in 1990 she also taught social studies and English. She was known as a dedicated teacher. In retirement Maryrose spent a lot of time helping with her grandchildren and being involved with their lives and activities. Even in retirement she continued to share herself by homeschooling her grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday June 27 2009 at 10 AM at St. Sebastian Church 476 Mull Ave. Private family inurnment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
