Mary Jo Canale-Johnson

Mary Jo Canale-Johnson was born to Daniel and Alma Canale on February 13, 1962 and was the 7th of eight children to whom will live on in her memory.

She was a blessing to this world because she devoted almost 40 years to being a pediatric nurse. Mary Jo traveled the world and saw the most beautiful scenes. Yet, the most beautiful thing was her soul. She was a loving wife to Terry Johnson for 22 years; her step children, Terry Witte, and Megan Kring, and their children; and above all, a mother to Sarah Johnson. Sarah will continue her legacy by finishing her studies at the University of Akron and will devote her life to children just like Mary Jo.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Avenue, Akron, Ohio.

Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Akron Children's Hospital, NICU, 7100, UA Nursing, so that others may continue her legacy as well.
