Mary Theresa Mendoza

Mary Theresa Mendoza went to be with Tom and her family on July 27, 2026.

Mary was born in Cleveland and attended Highland High school in Medina and Kent State University. She went on to work for, and retire from, County of Summit MRDD / Weaver School and Workshop.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Thomas M. Mozik Sr., her parents; Johanna (Powers) and Mauro Mendoza Sr., brothers; Harold J. Lucci (Mildred), Mauro Mendoza Jr.; son; TJ. Mozik, nephew; Mike Lucci.

Mary is survived by her daughter; Heather (Chad) Shamrowicz, grandchildren; Jackson and Rowyn Gamsby, nieces; Linda, Mary Beth, KC, Anna, nephews; Greg, Mark, and Scott.

Mary spent many of hours helping people in a variety of ways including; Miss Wheelchair Ohio, Akron Ballet Series in the Park, Stewart's Caring place, Copley-Fairlawn schools, and many other great organizations.

Mary had the purest heart and the most down to earth God-given wisdom. All who knew her are so much richer to have had her in our lives and the loss is so deeply felt.

A visitation will take place at Hummel Funeral Homes located at 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, OH 44321 Saturday August 15, 2026 from 1-3pm.
