Mary Lou Stricklen Karg, aged 89 died peacefully on September 16, 2023. She was born along with her twin JoAnn, on June 24,1934 in Akron Ohio to Della & Gilbert Stricklen. She graduated from Copley High School in 1952. On June 26, 1954 she married Kenneth R. Karg of Akron and celebrated 59 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Karen, Susan (Bruce) Ruhl, Ken (Linda), Steve (Lisa), Kathy (John) Horack (Peddicord) and Rob (Carol Golias) and loving grandmother to thirteen grandchildren Kyle (Ali) Scott (Cait) and Eric Ruhl, Matthew (Sarah), Mitchell and Mark Roller, Kevin (Sarah), Jonathan (Jenna) & Jennifer Peddicord, Kayla (Alex) & Kelsi Karg, Bradley & Jessica Karg and eight great grandchildren Jack, Taylor & Ryan Ruhl, Bailey & Riley Peddicord, Steven & James Peddicord and Milo Roller.

Mary Lou met her husband Ken, at Ray Karg and Sons in Akron; when she asked for change to call her father for a ride at the end of the bus line, after working in downtown Akron. Their lives changed from that point forward. She was a remarkable mother and devoted spouse, as her husband Ken pursued his career in the automobile industry. The family moved to Columbus in 1970 with Graham Ford. Then to Strongsville, Ohio in 1976, where they establish Karg Dodge, and later developed multiple automotive dealerships in Media and Brunswick. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and family. Her favorites, Africa, China, Ireland, cruises to Alaska, QE2 transatlantic cruise, Egypt, and 50th wedding anniversary cruise with entire family. Mary Lou was always invested in her treasured friendships. Mary Lou and Ken spent their winters in Siesta Key, Florida, where they golfed and hosted their family, and friends. She especially loved time with her children and grandchildren. Holidays were a treasured memory with plenty of gifts, food and family fun. All the lives touched by Mary Lou were enriched and she will be missed by those who have had the privilege of knowing her.

MaryLou is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Karg, her parents, Gilbert and Della, brother Gilbert Jr, sister Shirley McGuire and numerous brother and sister in law. She is survived by all her six children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, JoAnn (Gaylord), and brother Tom.

Family and friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home located at 3475 Copley Road, Copley OH 44321, on Friday September 22 from 4 - 7 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday September 23 at 10am at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church located at 3100 Weymouth Rd. Medina, OH 44256.
