Mary Ellen Ferrero

Mary Ferrero (nee. Weisenmiller), 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6th, 2023.

Born in May of 1934 to the late Ola Belle and Charles Weisenmiller. Mary was raised in Akron and graduated from Central High School in 1952. She was named Mrs. Akron in 1955, after winning a cooking contest. Mary and her husband, Richard were avid gardeners and won awards for the beautiful flower planting and landscaping at their home in Firestone Park.

Mary worked at Firestone Rubber company as a secretary for many years. Mary retired to care for her husband Richard, as she was devoted to caring for family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She liked cooking, staying active, crocheting, needle point, playing cards and doing puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Walker; husband Richard; and brother, Richard Weisenmiller.

She will be missed by her grandchildren, Linda Murphy, and Richard Walker; great grandchildren, Racheal (Chris) Yocum, and Sean Murphy; sister-in-law, Francine (Jack) Hubbell; and many other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary's name to Southern Care Hospice 3575 Forest Lake Dr. Suite #550 Uniontown, Ohio 44685.

Cremation will take place and there are no services planned at this time.
