Mary Adams Fazio died peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
She was born on February 20, 1945, in Akron, to Stella and William C. Hall. Mary attended Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and later studied at Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, and Finch College in Manhattan, earning a degree in English. She lived for some years in many European cities before returning to Akron with her family. She enjoyed working in public relations, most notably as Vice President of Communications for Akron General Health Systems. Mary enjoyed bowling, golfing, time with her many friends and traveling with her husband John. She adored her children and loved her three grandchildren immensely. Mary had a way with dogs, which she had for her entire life, all of them spoiled under her care. Her quick wit will be missed by those she played bridge and Mahjong with, by her many friends and by her immediate family. Mary is survived by her loving husband, John C. Fazio, daughter Kate (Chip) Lambert, son Billy (Emily) Adams, grandchildren Jack, Sarah and Lucy, and nieces Ann Ewart and Jennifer (Matt) Thomas. A celebration of life will be held to celebrate Mary's life on Thursday, June 30, 2022. More details to follow.
Those wishing to celebrate Mary's life at this time may send a contribution to the American Heart Association or the Akron Foodbank, two of the many charities that Mary contributed to.
