Mary Lee Bennett, 67, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.
Mary Lee was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose love for her family was the foundation of her life. She was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering faith in God. Mary Lee found beauty in the world through art and poetry, and she shared that appreciation with those around her. She also found joy in spending time with her family, caring for her beloved cats, enjoying a cold pop, and giving back to others through volunteer work.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Bennett; her father, Clarence Hofelt; her aunt, Erma Wise; and her uncle, Bob Wise.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Hofelt; her brother, Bill (Pam) Hofelt; and her children, Anna Straub, Michelle (James) Cain, Cheryl (Tony) Bizub, and Mary Beth (Rick) DeWalt.
Mary Lee was a proud and loving grandmother to Deshaun Ragland, Donta Ragland, Aailyah Ragland, Haylee (Zach) Brinson, Jamie Cain, Robert Cain, Austin Cain, and Roman Ray. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Mary Lee's faith guided her throughout her life, and she touched many people through her compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others. Whether sharing a poem, creating art, volunteering in her community, or simply spending time with loved ones, she brought warmth and comfort to those around her.
Her family will forever cherish the memories, laughter, wisdom, and love she shared. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her and embraced by the love of God.
The family will receive guests at the Hummel Funeral Home located at 2800 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333 Friday, June 5 from 10-10:30am With a service to follow at 10:30am.
