VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEMartin Kungl 71 passed away on July 23rd surrounded by family at his home. He was born on April 8 1938 in Nasicka Breznica Yugoslavia. Martin is survived by his wife of 48 years Rosemary sons and daughter-in-law Dr. Marty and Julie Kungl David and Faina Kungl daughter and son-in-law Christine and Craig Stermer and eight loved and adored grandchildren Michael Patrick Brian Adam Jacqueline Alexander Max and Ava. He is also survived by Anna Kungl and John Kurosky and their families. Martin always had time for his family and will now watch over them. He joins his parents and brothers in heaven Anna Josef Johann and George. He left a legacy of love of friends and family and was committed to the Catholic faith. After being displaced from Yugoslavia now Croatia he came to the United States and lived the American dream. He married the girl of his dreams and raised three children. A quiet man he was surprisingly a union leader at the RCA Rubber Company where he worked for 38 years. His wife of 48 years Rosemary will miss his warmth wit strength and never-ending love. Together they took a romance from the 1950's well into the 21st century. He left his hard-work ethic and smooth golf swing to his eldest son Martin his off-beat dry sense of humor to his youngest son David and his belief that every day is a blessing to his daughter Christine. He will never be forgotten and will always be missed. Calling hours will be Monday July 27 2009 from 4-8 PM at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church 44 University Ave. Akron OH 44308. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Ohio Division Inc North Region 10501 Euclid Ave Cleveland OH 44106 or St. Bernard's Church Memorial Trust for steeple repairs.
