Marilyn Montgomery passed away on Saturday October 15, 2022. She was surrounded by all of her children. She was a loving wife and longed for the day to join her soul mate and husband of 62 years - Robert Montgomery - who passed away in 2015. They had an epic love story that started at a YMCA dance in downtown Akron. They created a beautiful family and lovely Copley home that were her pride and joy. She was a loving mother to her four children and spouses - Diane (Marty), Susan(Kevin), David(Jeanette), and Carol(Keith). She really shined in her role as a grandmother and loved her 10 grandchildren dearly - Kimmy, Matthew, Gabrielle, Seth, Kyle, Ryan, Lydia, Dylan, Taylor (who sadly passed away too early in life in 2017) and Stephanie; and 2 great grandchildren-Jackson and Lauchlan.
Marilyn was born in Akron and attended St. Mary's Catholic school. Her life's dream was to create a loving, joyful, stable family - which she succeeded in abundance. She found great joy in creating special holidays, planning weekend adventures, and fun-filled summer vacations. She was always in the kitchen cooking everyone's favorite meals. As a devout Catholic, she went to mass every Sunday. Marilyn walked her faith by supporting homeless shelters, foods banks and women's shelters. She was a great friend and loved any type of gathering - from her card club with girlfriends, euchre club with Goodyear couples, to bowling leagues and senior exercise classes at the Akron Jewish center. Marilyn was organized down to the minute details and had a list for her lists. Dementia took its toll the last couple of years - but her resounding wish was to "be with Daddy". It's a blessing Bob and Marilyn are together again.
