Marilyn Maximovich

August 4, 1943 — January 12, 2026

Marilyn Mary Maximovich peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday morning, January 12, 2026, with her children by her side. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Thomas Joseph Maximovich.

Marilyn was born on August 4, 1943, to John & Ann Halabrin. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Akron and went on to devote over 50 years of service to Summa Hospital, building a remarkable career in radiology starting in x-ray, then specializing in MRI. Her professionalism, compassion, and gentle presence touched countless patients and colleagues.

Marilyn was known for her warmth and her ability to connect with everyone she met. She never met a stranger and always made people feel welcome-often wishing visits would last just a LITTLE longer. Forgiving, loving, empathetic, kind, and generous, she lived her life rooted in faith. Her Catholic belief was central to who she was, and she prayed her family would continue to remain strong in their commitment and love of God. Marilyn believed deeply in loving all people, and faithfully prayed for others, especially those in need or those who felt forgotten.

Giving to others was one of Marilyn's greatest joys. She devoted her time, energy, and resources to charitable causes, quietly helping wherever she could. She treasured time spent with family and friends, tending to her flowers and garden, cooking and sharing good food, reading, taking long drives, enjoying movies and British shows, and lingering over meaningful conversations-often with a good cup of coffee. She especially cherished the companionship and laughter shared with the Ladies on Tuesdays.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John & Ann Halabrin; her sister, JoAnne Rapenchuk; and her loving husband, Thomas Joseph Maximovich.

She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Steve) Phillips, Tim (Maria) Maximovich, and Colleen (Michael) Madonia; her grandchildren: Debbie (Darius), Richard (Kristie), Chris, Paul, & Noah; & her great-grandchildren: Dearries, Darius Jr., & Dariyah, Daxton, Dominic & Athena.

Marilyn's loving nature touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shared in her life, treated her with kindness, and took the time to enjoy her company-each of you held a special place in her heart.
