Marilyn Bargetz

December 6, 1930 — February 13, 2023

Marilyn Ann (Lawrence) Bargetz, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland. Marilyn was born on December 6, 1930, the only child of Frank and Thelma (Wintersteller) Lawrence. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Sandusky, Ohio. Marilyn then attended and graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing. Her first nursing job took her to Akron, Ohio, where she met Edward Bargetz at a local dance. Although Edward was somewhat reserved, he reportedly told a friend, after seeing Marilyn across the room, that he was "going to marry that girl". They tied the knot on February 14, 1953. During Edward's lifelong career at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., they lived in France and Quebec, Canada. However, most of their life was spent in Akron, Ohio where they raised their two children. Edward and Marilyn retired to Port St. Lucie, FL, where they found years of enjoyment in their many good friends, golf and travel. Marilyn was predeceased by Edward in 2009 and then moved to live with her daughter Deborah in Maryland. She leaves behind her daughter Deborah (Butts) and son Mark, as well as their spouses, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Interment will be next to Edward at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio following a brief graveside service on Monday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to Frederick Health Hospice, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701.
