Marie Ann Koci, 84, of Cleveland, decided she had had enough of 2020, and beat 2021 to the punch. Marie peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020, at Brookdale Camelot Medina, where she has resided for the last three and a half years. Marie was born at home, in Cleveland, Ohio, April 20, 1936, to the late Charles and Nettie (Linhart) Koci. Marie graduated from John Adams High School in 1954.
Marie worked at the State of Ohio Jobs and Family Services. She was a member of the West Park Evangelical Friends Church, Cleveland, Ohio, for many years. Marie was a very generous soul. She supported many charities and organizations, among them, her church family, and Moody Bible Institute. She was also very generous with her family, and friends. Marie was her own person, and had her own way of doing life that would be considered unconventional by most, but in the scope of this life, she was able to archive many interesting pieces of family history, and culture throughout the years. She loved to buy and read books, buy clothes, and buy Avon. She also enjoyed traveling with friends, and attending Bluegrass concerts.
Marie is survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Butterfield) Koci, her nieces and nephews, David (Lisa) Koci, Kathie (Kent) Davis, Bob (Laura) Koci, and many great, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Nettie (Linhart) Koci, her brother, Frank Koci, and her nephew, Francis.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Camelot Medina, and Brookdale Hospice for their exceptional care of Marie, especially during these months of COVID. Thank you for stepping in and being family when we could not be there, due to COVID restrictions.
A private family gathering will take place in the near future.
