VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Maria Concetta Anita (Mincica) Reiter of Tallmadge journeyed to the Lord on Thursday October 19 2006. She succumbed to terminal leukemia at age 71. Born in Akron in 1935 to Anthony and Concetta Mincica. Married Michael J. Reiter in 1958. An operatic soprano Maria sang in public from age four (learning quickly that 'when you sing they give you good stuff'). Sang in many groups/venues such as WADC radio's 'Italian Hour' Alpine Village innumerable concerts and weddings and folk groups I Gagliardi Italiani and Hrvatski Prijatelji. She earned scholarships to Akron University and Cleveland Institute of Music and auditioned for the New York Metropolitan Opera. A Realtor for 36 years most recently with Mosholder Realty. A long-term member of Annunciation Church she had a great love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. An avid rosary maker she sent many to missions and charitable causes. A member of the Akron-Le Radici and the St. Ann's Grandmothers Club of Annunciation Church and had been a volunteer at City Hospital. Favorites: color - cranberry red book - the biography of Mother Angelica trips - to Florida Hawaii and the annual pilgrimage to Mother Angelica in Alabama for the last 17 years low calorie dessert - a hot fudge sundae with caramel and pecans and extra fudge. Survived by her beloved husband Michael J. children Michael A./Kimberly Reiter (Delaware) Maria/Robert Sargent (Tallmadge) Anna Reiter (Minnesota) John/Kim Reiter (Tallmadge) grandchildren Ben Heather Holly Lily Jacob and Emma siblings Grace Ann Ted and Joanna and a large extended family and network of friends.
