Margaret "Peggy" Hamad

Mrs. Margaret Dorothy Hamad, age 95, passed away on July 20, 2023. She was born in Woodsfield, Ohio to Julius and Clara Haren. Peggy was married to Naser Hamad for 36 years and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1991.

Along with her parents and husband, Peggy was also preceded in death by her son, Christopher Hamad and her 8 siblings.

She is survived by her children, Clarissa (Allan) Moser, Christine (Dennis) Miller, Carrie Hamad, Curtis (Valerie) Hamad, and Caroline (Robert) Bishop; daughter-in-law, Sandy Hamad; grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Klomparens, Erika (Jason) Siegfried, Andrea (Dave) Frank, David (Mary) Miller, Tana Ruester, Jeremy Ruester, Christopher II (Stephanie) Hamad, Johnathan (Hannah) Hamad, Kara (Christopher) Louis, Karli (Darren) Brennan, Adam Hamad, Colin Bishop, Clayton Bishop, and Heather (Kyle) Bowditch; and 28.5 great grandchildren.

Peggy was a graduate of Canton-McKinley High School, and then graduated from Beauty School. She was the co-owner and operator with Naser at N.J. Hamad's Bar and Grill. Peggy then went to work for Rockne's as the "Queen Hostess" for 30 years. On behalf of her time at Rockne's she was the recipient of The Zenith Award (Hospitality Person of the Year). Peggy loved family gatherings, traveling, and playing cards and games. She enjoyed dancing at celebrations and had a great sense of humor. Her many pleasures included reading, puzzles, country music, and Cleveland sports teams.

We will always remember her upbeat personality, dazzling smile, and shining outlook on life.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road, Copley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, 507 South Cleveland Massillon Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo Road, Akron.
