Lois (Minninger) Misanko, was born on January 18, 1934, in Akron. She peacefully passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on August 12, 2023.
In her early years, Lois met the love of her life, James Misanko. Lois' dedication to her family was unparalleled, she enjoyed being a full-time housewife.
Lois was preceded in death by her sons David and William; siblings Robert, Ralph, Betty, and Joanne. She is survived by her husband of 69 years James, sister Norma Adkins, son and daughter-in-law James (Sharon) Misanko, grandsons Eric (Angela) and Matthew (Erin) Misanko and 3 great grandchildren Jocelyn, Adele and Maxwell.
Lois was known for love and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The arrival of Jocelyn, Adele and Maxwell brought immense happiness into Lois' life. She embraced each great-grandchild with unconditional love.
Family gatherings were always special occasions for Lois. She was known for her cooking including potato salad and cabbage rolls. She always took care of her family before herself. The Misanko household will forever hold cherished moments of laughter, love, and joy.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11AM at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd, Akron, OH 44312. The family will greet friends one hour prior. A private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Lois.
