Lois June Foster

Lois June Foster, age 94, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, after a brief illness.

Lois was born on September 17, 1931, on her grandfather Pyne's farm in Haynes Township, Michigan. Growing up near the shores of Lake Huron gave her many cherished childhood memories. As the daughter of a Coast Guard serviceman, she moved frequently throughout her childhood.

She graduated from McKinley High School in St. Louis in 1949, where she had the honor of reading her senior poem "Memories " at graduation. She later attended classes to become a laboratory technician at St. Louis University.

Lois worked as a laboratory technician at Children's Hospital in St. Louis and later as an EKG technician at Medina Hospital. She also drove for FISH, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and served as a Girl Scout leader.

Above all else, Lois was a devoted mother who raised four successful children, each of whom she treasured and was immensely proud.

Lois was baptized into Christ on April 28, 2024, and is a member of the Westside Church of Christ. She faithfully attended worship and Bible study there. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16.

Lois was preceded in death by her father, Emmet Ferris Foster; her mother, Florence Merchant Nienhuis; her stepmother, Josephine Billings Foster; her brothers, Everett Foster; George Champagne and her beloved grandson, Jason Holley.

She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Dusty) Bailey, Laura (Bradley) Bennett, Janice Holley, and Dr. Brian (Debbie) Jewell.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: William (Darnell) Bailey, Michelle (Steve) Klee, Nik (Nilu) Holley, Brittiny (Waleed) Bennett Alharbai, Brett (Marissa) Bennett, Branden (Amanda) Bennett, Brock Bennett, Brian Jewell, Kara (John) Delacio, and Nick Jewell.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Kefir Klee, Knightley Klee, Brooklyn Bennett, Bailey Bennett, Willow Bennett, Maya Bennett, Athena Bennett, Colt Bennett, Maryam Holley, and a soon-to-be-born baby girl Delacio.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Westside Church of Christ, 645 N. Revere Rd., Akron, OH 44333, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. There will be calling hours at the church from 11:00am to noon with a service at noon followed by a lunch reception.
