Kathleen Ewers died on April 15 2008 after a five year battle with cancer. She was born September 12 1941 to Edmund Kahl O'Connor and Mildred Klein O'Connor in Akron Ohio. Kathleen attended St. Sebastian Grade School Our Lady of the Elms High School Niagara University and Akron University. Kathleen was employed as Executive Secretary to the major executives of both O'Neil's and May Department Stores. She also was secretary to the V.P. of the Rubber Division of H. Muehlstein. She later was a real estate agent for many years with Marting and Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer. Kathleen was currently the Executive Director of the Lehner Family Charitable Foundation. Kathleen met and married Gordon Ewers in 1964. In addition to her husband she is survived by her brother-in-law Darrell (Sue) Ewers; nieces and nephews: Lori Ewers Randall (Nancy) Ewers Michael (Carol) Ewers and Peggy Jacobson; cousins: Michael O'Connor Gerald Klein Mary Kay Danckaert Mary Beth Rich Barbara Eckman Clarice Kuhn and Gregory Klein. Kathleen served as a volunteer for the following organizations: Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens as a tour guide Akron Art Museum as secretary to the Development Director Our Lady of the Elms School Board for many years Hale Farm and Village (Women's Board) St. Hilary Catholic Church as Secretary of Parish Council. Kathy was a member of Witan and Christ Child Society as well as Portage and Fairlawn Country Clubs. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday April 19 2008 at 9:00 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 West Market Street Akron Ohio. Procession will form at the church.
