It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John L. White, age 76. Born and raised in Akron, John was a member of Annunciation Parish and school. A 1967 graduate of Hoban High School, John went on to earn an associate's degree in Transportation from the University of Akron. He served his country with honor in the United States Army, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. John was self-employed in retail food sales. Then in retirement he worked with his son and daughter-in-law at Hoban High School.
John had a deep love for his home and took meticulous care of his house and yard, always staying busy with a new project. Thanksgiving dinner was always a special occasion-John never missed preparing the turkey himself, a tradition that brought everyone together year after year.
Whether it was hiking the woods around the family cabin in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, at the beach, or Hocking Hills he always enjoyed being with the family, cherishing his time with his grandchildren.
