Jack J. McCormick 89 was reunited with his wife Jeanette on Monday April 1st 2013; leave it to Uncle Jack to die on April Fool's Day! Jack was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1941. Jack also served in the Army during WWII from which he received the Purple Heart Medal and the Bronze Star Medal. After 40 years of service Jack retired from the East Ohio Gas Company. He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanette (Considine) parents Daniel and Gertrude McCormick sisters Marjorie Schaaf Jeanne Janatta Mary Ellen Barrett and nephew David McCormick. Jack is survived by brother Ralph (Jane) McCormick of Green and many loving nieces and nephews grand nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 4 2013 from 4-7 PM at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday April 5 2013 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 750 S. Main St. Akron 44311. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
