Jimmy Lee

November 9, 1954 — April 15, 2021

Jimmy Lavaughn Lee, age 66, passed away on April 15, 2021 at his residence. Jim was born in Opp, Alabama to Robert and Margaret Lee.

Jim married Debra (Ward) Lee on January 1, 1983 and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Krystal (Mat) McNeil; sons, Cullan (Alysa) Lee, Jamey (Melissa) Hornsby, and Jason Dorsey; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Lee; sisters, Barbara and Audrey.

Jim grew up in Opp, Alabama, where he was a hometown celebrity, a sports director, and was on a path to play college football. An injury shattered those plans, but he never let that take away his happiness. Jim found it elsewhere with his wife, the love of his life for 38 years. He loved playing golf, enjoyed college football, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jim will be greatly missed, but leaves behind a legacy of love to his family.
